Statement of Faith. We are faithful to these doctrines:
The Bible | The Bible is the infallible and authoritative Word of God, without error, given for the purpose of directing man to salvation. Hebrews 4:12 "For the Word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword…It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."
God and the Trinity | God the Father is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Sustainer of all things. There is only one God, and He is infinite, eternal, and perfect in holiness, truth, and love. Deuteronomy 6:4 "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one."
The Triune God [the Trinity] consists of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are co-existent, co-eternal, and co-equal. 2 Corinthians 13:14 "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all."
Jesus Christ | God the Son—Jesus—was supernaturally conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and without sin. He was the vicarious sacrifice for the sin of all mankind through His death on the cross. He arose from the dead in His own glorified body, appeared to many, ascended into heaven, and will return to earth in power and glory. He is now the Head of His Body, the Church. John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
The Holy Ghost | God the Holy Ghost convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, unites man to Jesus Christ in faith, brings about the new birth, and lives within the believer, enabling him to grow in sanctification and righteousness and become a gift of God to the Church. 1 Corinthians 3:16 "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?"
The Baptism of the Holy Ghost is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ and will totally surrender their lives to the complete, perfect will of God. Acts 19:5-6 "On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them…"
The Gifts of the Holy Ghost (word of knowledge, wisdom, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discernment of spirits, tongues, and the interpretation of tongues) are available through the Holy Ghost and are for the Church today! Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be My witnesses…"
Mankind | Man was created in the image and likeness of God. Through the original sin of Adam and Eve, mankind has fallen from God and become sinful in nature. He is totally incapable of returning to God in himself and is lost without hope, apart from the salvation of Jesus Christ. Romans 3:23-24 "For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."
Salvation | Salvation is the gift of God through the grace and faith of Jesus Christ. There is no other Name except that of Jesus Christ by which men may be saved. By turning from sin to repentance and trusting in Christ and His vicarious death, man is born again into eternal life by the Holy Spirit. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all righteousness."
The Church | The Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, whose task is to take the Gospel to all men in all nations, and to make disciples of them. Ephesians 2:19-21 "You are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord." Romans 12: 4-5 "Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body…"
The Second Coming | The Consummation of all things includes the visible, personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and the translation of those alive in Christ into the presence of God for eternity. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." |
